Simple Golf Swing

There are a lot of ingredients that go into a good swing.  You may have the best shoes, expensive clubs, and the finest balls but none of this will matter if your swing doesn’t measure up. In order to add distance to your shot you want to concentrate on your swing each and every shot.

Many golfers make it their life-long objective to perfect a simple golf swing. You will save a lot of time by focusing on just a few simple things to decrease your chances of missing the ball, slicing it, and not getting the desired distance you are hoping for.  You can dramatically lower the number of strokes it takes to get you to the hole on every run.

The most critical concern should be your posture.  Make sure you have excellent posture before hitting the ball.  Your back should be perfectly straight and the club aligned directly in front of you. You want your left arm to be extended and straight.  You need to be comfortable in this stance.

Keep in mind that this swing is designed for a golfer that is right-handed.  If you are a left-handed golfer merely picture yourself standing in front of a right-handed golfer practicing this swing as if you were looking in a mirror and you should be able to duplicate the exact same results.

You need to lift your left shoulder as you lower your right shoulder. You don’t want to put your weight on the right foot or lean towards the right either.  Ensure that your stance remains straight upward when you lift and lower your shoulders vertically.  As you lower your right shoulder, your right arm will touch the lower right side of your stomach.

Taking this form you will make sure you are in the correct starting posture.  This is also close to the same posture as when your club makes contact with the ball.  Keeping this stance in your mind will help you minimize any possibility of missing the ball or ending up with a poor strike.

When you swing the club you want to pull it back while bending your right elbow slightly and at the same time maintain a straight left arm. The clubface will then come up over your head. As you are coming down with your downswing the force and speed of your swing will come into play and this is one of the most important factors of your swing.

Make sure you come down with plenty of force on the shot as you extend your right arm.  Your weight will then shift to your right leg.  As the club head makes contact with the ball you need to follow through with the club.

You want to use your left arm to guide the swing also. Your torso will turn toward the fairway as you watch the ball in flight.  During the follow through your right arm will now be straight while your left arm will be bent. Get more info on the simple golf swing and get your free swing analysis.
